Two more favorite stinkbombs from the beloved sci-fi comedy show Mystery Science Theater; this special release features two titles, "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" and "Manos - The Hands of Fate." The premise of the show was that a man trapped on a satellite was forced to watch the worst movies ever created in an evil experiment conducted by two mad scientists who wanted to take over the world. They planned to do so by finding a movie so bad that they could broadcast it worldwide and thus weaken the Earth's defenses. "Santa Claus" is a product of the Cold War imagination, a Christmas special where some Martian parents plot to kidnap Santa so their children can experience the holidays just like any Earthling child. As an added bonus, one of the Martian halflings is played by a young Pia Zadora in her first role. "Manos" tells the story of a family lost in the desert who come to stay with a mysterious man named Torgo, who seems agitated and continually mutters about "the master."

    MST3K...Always funny and a good laugh. The characters are a mish mash of different personalities that blend well together to make any show they are forced to watch better then the original movie, A must have.

    Two episodes included. The first is "Manos: The Hands of Fate" which is definitely an essential episode; the second is "Santa Conquers the Martians" and while it's pretty good, I wouldn't classify it as "essential." This set is worth it if you get it on the cheap!

    If You Like MST3K, You’ll Love This...

    What can I say? I loved the show from first to last, and the films on this edition are “Essentials” - their title AND my opinion too! The films are so bad they’re good, and the show’s characters make great commentary, ranging from snarky-good through fall-down-laughing hilarious.
