Melancholy with sprinkles of light
It’s an interesting story.. sweet. Steve Carell is good amongst all the others, however, he is melancholy. And, his character is devalued so on top of being a widower, so the humor is found in the private exchanges between the female lead. Kinda makes you feel like the jewel of the movie is that relationship, however overall it is a lot of ‘dumping’ -if you will, on the main character that has to be endured. I’m not sure I like that even if it provides the darker backdrop for the light the relationship - as it develops, brings.
