Synopsis
The next installment in the New York Times #1 bestselling companion series to the Fox historical docudrama, Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies ; The Civil War is a pulse-quickening account of the deadliest war in American history. From the birth of the Republican Party to the Confederacy's first convention, the Underground Railroad to the Emancipation Proclamation, the Battle of Gettysburg to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies: The Civil War reveals the amazing and often little known stories behind the battle lines of America's bloodiest war and debunks the myths that surround its greatest figures, including Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln, General Robert E. Lee, Frederick Douglass, Stonewall Jackson, John Singleton Mosby, Ulysses S. Grant, Jefferson Davis, John Wilkes Booth, William Tecumseh Sherman, and more. An epic struggle between the past and future, the Civil War sought to fulfill the promise that "all men are created equal." It freed an enslaved race, decimated a generation of young men, ushered in a new era of brutality in war, and created modern America. Featuring archival images, eyewitness accounts, and beautiful artwork that further brings the history to life, The Civil War is the action-packed and ultimate follow-up to the #1 bestsellers The Patriots and The Real West ., The newest installment in the New York Times #1 bestselling companion series to the Fox historical docudrama, Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies ; The Civil War is a pulse-quickening account of the deadliest war in American history From the birth of the Republican Party to the Confederacy's first convention, the Underground Railroad to the Emancipation Proclamation, the Battle of Gettysburg to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies: The Civil War reveals the amazing and often little known stories behind the battle lines of America's bloodiest war and debunks the myths that surround its greatest figures, including Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln, General Robert E. I received my order on time as seller promised. I had questions prior to it being shipped. The seller quickly responded putting my mind at ease. I had previously purchased this same item from 2 other sellers in which I made several attempts to contact, but they would not respond, yet they had already received pymt. I ended up canceling those. Sellers like this one restored my faith on purchasing from EBAY. Item was in perfect condition n packaged very well. Thank you!

I paid for this movie on 07/05. By 07/24, the tracking showed that my parcel has been waiting at an USPS facility in my for a week. I contacted the seller. eBay issued a refund. Surprise! today, 08/01, the movie arrived well packed. I watched it. Excellent condition and video quality; great price also. Wanted to pay for it (again)so I contacted the seller to find out how. Regretfully, they say they were “unable to retain payment after a refund has been issued”. A real shame. Snail Mail’s fault

    Beautiful book with pictures

I had purchased on my kindle one of these books but am so glad I bought the hardcover editions because of all the pictures.they were cheaper through eBay than my kindle cost and after I’ve read them I plan to donate them.

  • Most critical review

    Accurate

I just turned 70 and I rated this book in the top 4 books I've ever read. Great detail makes this book compelling and the variety of people involved keeps your interest high, especially if you're into the setup of the Civil War.

  • Very good read

As usual, Bill O'Reilly's books are all worth the time to read. He shed's light where it never was and ties it all together in a very engaging and entertaining way. I my opinion all three of his "Legends and Lies" books and his "Killing......" series should be required reading for a High School diploma in the US. For non Christians even Killing Jesus is an excellent insight in history and human behavior in that era.

  • Truth with explaination.

It is history that many people do not know. If you do not know what has happened before in history, you will most likely commit the same mistakes. It is told in a more interresting format than a history class.

  • Civil War history

Great book. A must read. Need to be used as an accurate school text book, then you wouldn't have all those liberal Democrat's taking down the Civil War statues. This is history worth preserving!
