Very Capable Reel
For the money spent this is a fine reel, IMO, and it's still a Penn. I haven't used it yet, but it seems sturdy and well made. The round power handle knob is a nice touch. Line retrieval is smooth and fast. Even so I added 5-6 drops of my favorite reel oil to it, making it even smoother. All functions work as they should. The HT-100 drag system has a wide range and strong top end, capable of slowing/stopping big fish, and the anti-reverse is instant. I managed to get 130-140 yards of 80 lb. braid on the spool, plenty for the king salmon this reel will see next summer. I have since picked up another 5000 and 6000 version as I like what I'm seeing with these reels.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
