    Best. TV. Series. Ever

    The Wire is heartachingly, profoundly, unsparingly real. One piece of advice to first-time viewers: some characters speak a very narrow local American dialect and it can be very difficult to understand. In fact, the African American actors playing the roles, didn't understand it either. My advice is to not fight it. Don't struggle to understand every word. Just watch the characters and let the words wash over you. After a few episodes it will all make sense. This show is so real I really believe there is a Bubbles, Stringer Bell, and so on.

    first 2 discs were watchable & good but disc 3 keep stopping and crashing...I don't know if rest are same but not worth the time or effort to find out if they will keep constantly needing to be restarting after crashing ...win some lose some

    Excellent. Intense, insightful, well worth watching

    "The Wire" is one of the best TV drama series ever. The writing is top notch and the acting is superb. You learn a lot about life in the inner city, while being entertained in the process. After you've watched a few episodes, the show becomes addictive. At the end of the final episode of the last (fifth) season, I felt a profound sense of loss. "The Wire" made an indelible imprint on my mind. An amazing production.
