    Nikon P1000

    It is a good camera for what it was designed to do. This camera takes good close ups and portrait photos as well las telephotos at a great distance. Due to the sensor size, the resolution does not match the higher resolutions of large sensor cameras, but with that said, unless you are printing high resolution prints, this is a camera for those using it for every day photo sharing. The zoom capability allows for perfect framing.

    I have just started doing photography. Something I have wanted to do for years but time and funding have stopped me. I bought a D3500 Nikon and love it. I discovered the P1000 through my son and You Tube. The nice thing about the P1000 is it zooms to 3000 meters and auto focuses when it gets there. The D3500 will take the photo but focusing it at that distance is a pain. The down side is the P1000 is big. Quite big and needs a really strong tripod to be effective. Nothing is free. I use the D3500 for stuff up to 300 meter as it auto focuses there and it's light and user friendly. The P1000 can reach out and touch someone. I love the P 1000 and am looking forward to summer. A telephoto in the fog is not so good.

    3000 mm lens perfect for those long animal shots in Africa

    the 3000mm zoom was perfect for photographing animals at a distance on my recent African Safari! No one else on the tour could get such wonderful close up shots. The large lens makes it quite heavy, but I found that I could stabilize it well enough to get great shots. I am a point and shoot person and the auto settings worked just fine for me.

    Excellent all around camera

    This, my first Nikon camera, is excellent, top quality. I have not learned all it's capabilities yet, but the zoom quality is everything they say it is and more. I purchased the book on it and look forward to taking spectacular photos in the future.
