About this product

Product Information

Join the movement Four million strong and counting, hip, young chicks with sticks are putting a whole new spin on knitting--while turning last fall's Stitch 'n Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook into a surprise national bestseller (from The New York Times to the L.A. Times to BookSense) with 215,000 copies in print. So influential is the book that the number of Stitch 'n Bitch knitting groups tripled in the past six months--spawning a Stitch 'n Bitch Nation . Written by Stitch 'n Bitch author Debbie Stoller, Stitch 'n Bitch Nation features 50 hip, new, even funkier and more fabulous patterns by Stitch 'n Bitch designers, who come from San Francisco to Brooklyn, Chicago to Cambridge to St. Paul, Minnesota. The Om Yoga Mat Bag. Felted Monster Slippers. The London Calling Union Jack Sweater, because even punks get cold in winter. A Double-Duty Shrug. Polka Dot Tankini. That '70s Poncho. The Boob Tube. Spiderweb Capelet, Cabled Newsboy Cap, Chunky Baby Booties and Baby Bunny Hat. And the most ingenious project, a Knit-Your-Own Rock Star doll--with a choice of Joey Ramone or Henry Rollins. All designs are complete with full-color photographs and step-by-step instructions, and are made from sexy, contemporary yarns, including multicolored angora, alpaca, lace, and mohair. Includes the best tips, shortcuts, and techniques from Stitch 'n Bitchers, profiles of knitters and their groups, and a how-to refresher on all the stitches used in the book.

  • Stitch 'n bitch Nation by Debbie Stoller

The first book I bought by Debbie Stoller was called Stitch 'n Bitch: THe Knitter's Handbook. I used this as my bible while learning how to knit. It was very interesting and a vast source of enjoyment. When I saw there was another book called, "Stitch 'n bitch Nation I couldn't help but buy it. It is loaded with new patterns, little stories and profiles on Stitch and Bitch groups, refresher on stitches and some new ones. It tells you how to change a gauge on patterns such as vests, headbands, purses, capes and even fish net stockings!!! There is even a page on how to make chop sticks into needles with a little very little effort. This book will not disappoint. If you liked the first Stitch and Bitch you will like this one, too.

  • great book

this book has so many great projects, things that you would actaully want to knit... they are so cute and funky and alot of them are great gifts... the book also has all the directions for knitting and new things to increase your knitting expertise! I had checked the book out at the library but i used it so much, that i had to buy it for myself. I love the variety of yarns and styles they incorpate in the patterns. The patterns are easy to read, follow, and figure out. Lots of great ideas for you to expand on and tweak too!!!! lets you be creative. highly recommend esp for the trendy knitters!!!

  • Ohh, another good one for knitters...

This book is fun to flip through and has some adorable patterns. The only problem is that you must keep up with the website to watch for any changes made to the patterns. There are errors (we're all human) that get discovered after printing and the website shows those. Its worth it to have a great pattern, though, right? I'm excited about knitting a couple sweaters from this one. The original Stitch 'n Bitch was much better, but I think this one is written for a slightly more accomplished knitter. Get them both!!!

  • For Knitters with some prior experiance

This book is the sequel to the Stitch 'n Bitch Handbook. It contains some simple direction in the back to review but is not the right book to teach you how to knit. It has some information on sizing patterns for your body which is great. It's got lots of great designs and describes knitting groups around the country. This book is for knitters with some experience, not a beginner's book. (If you want more knitting information get Stitch 'n Bitch Handbook first.) Enjoy!

  • Fun, funky knitting...not just for old ladies anymore!

This is a great book for anyone that is looking for unique and funky knitting patterns. I bought this book because I loved Stitch n' Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook by Debbie Stoller so much. Each pattern is easy to follow and there is a quick reference in the back in case you need help with a knitting technique. There is a lot of really helpful information on how to understand a knitting pattern and how to make adjustments to the pattern to make it more customized. The book is fresh, funny, young, and would be great for a novice or an advanced knitter.
