Neat previous owner's stamp on the front endpaper, for, fascinatingly, the renowned US industrial designer Leo Jiranek. Jiranek, who died aged 89 in 1990, founded and served as the first president of the American Designers Institute and had a long career as a pre-eminent designer and educator. His pieces of furniture, particularly those executed in the Art Deco or American Modernist / Streamline styles, are very highly-sought after.”
