About this product

Product Information

The authors' approach to the revised fourth edition of the popular text Probability, Random Variables and Stochastic Processes is to develop the subject of probability theory and stochastic processes systematically as a deductive discipline with many illustrative examples of engineering interest. The text is intended for senior/graduate level courses in probability and stochastic processes, and is aimed at students in electrical and computer engineering, mathematics, and physics. With its excellent topical coverage, the book can be used for two or three different courses. This significantly updated fourth edition now includes a coauthor, Prof. S. Unnikrishna Pillai, also from Polytechnic.

Book is what I needed, cheaper than any other new version I could find--only thing I'll note, they tell you "hardcover" its not--its soft cover but at least its bound into a textbook and not just a bunch of hole punched sheets like this textbook company (NOT THIS SELLER) has sent me before.

  • a good book

Good book. Nice buying experience. The book looks good. However, it does not need to be color-printed at all. Black and white printed on the good quality paper is good enough and it will cost less money to buy.

  • Good Book

If you're studying probability theory, this is the one you will be satisfied! However, in the 4th Edition, you can still find some typos. However, the authors also provided errata solutions.

  • Recommended based on its informativity

I find the book readable and informative. Concepts are clearly laid out; it is easy to teach yourself from reading the book.
