What do you get when you take the etiquette out of Major League Baseball? The answer must be something like Midway's MLB SlugFest 2006. The game is designed to offer the fast-paced, exaggerated action that fans of the series have come to expect, including towering home runs, solid tags, and acrobatic circus catches. Real-life teams and players from the MLB are featured, but in this game they've got super-human abilities and winner-take-all attitudes. These Boys of Summer can throw bean balls, execute "On-fire" fielding, or break-up a double-play, Ty Cobb-style, by sliding into second with spikes held high. Three modes of play are available: Season, Playoff, and Challenge. New in this "2006" edition is a create-a-player feature that allows gamers to build their own unique power hitters and ace pitchers.

    Great Game

    MLB Slugfest 2006 in a nutshell is a baseball version of NBA Jam. It's not a real life baseball simulator. Its a fun tripped out arcade style baseball game where the players play like they never could in real life. It's real easy to get the hang of the game and the controls are pretty vast so you have alot of control over things that you normally wouldn't have in a regular baseball simulator. Now don't get me wrong there's always room for improvement but if your a baseball fan for $20 you can't go wrong with this title and if you play it with a open mind you'll enjoy it. No it doesn't have the best grafix, controls, etc. etc. etc. but thats not the point. It's a fun budget title that you'll probably play with your friends more often than ...

    MLB Slugfest 2006 Xbox

    I was looking for some Baseball games for Xbox. I had Madden and EA football and wanted some baseball, my real passion sport. I got this, NCAA 2006 and MLB 2005. Of the three, this is the most fun. I played by myself and with my boys and the "on Fire" mode from NBA Jam(the best basketball game of all time) or NFL Blitz was a hoot! Charge the mound and pound the pitcher if you're beaned! Hit a homer and be "on Fire" for your second at bat and take one WAAAAAY DEEP! Lots more fun in head to head action than against the computer. A little easier to get started and learn as you play than the EA Sports games. A lot less realistic gameplay, but a lot more fun!

    Power up the fun!!

    Graphics are great, game is super fun. It was easy enough for my 6 year old nephews to learn the basics, but challanging enough for the adults to enjoy. Since purchasing, 2 other family members have bought the game for their houses.

    I LOVE SLUGFEST

    I love everything about Slugfest. I own everyone they have made. I heard that this is the last one they are going to make and that makes me very sad!! I guess I'll have to buy the LIVE connection so I can download the new rosters every year for this one. It will be worth it!!

    mlb slugfest 2006 for xbox

    The game was in excellent condition and is great fun to play, especially beating up the players. You can unlock special characters and good graphics. There is not anything I don't like.
