    Samsung T729 Blast phone

This works as a phone, but the other features such as music storage, taking and altering a photo are not worth the bother. Battery life is short already without using the features. And the keybaord for typing is absolutely non intuitive and a bother to become acquainted with. The extra buttons have no labels to speak of, and the icons on the screen are far too complex for the tiny screen. Rather than art-photos they should have used line drawings of items. In the unit I use the sound with loudspeaker used is simply too soft hardly noticeable above the normal sound. The unit does ok as a phone. A later model has simplified the design and is much easier to navigate its features.

  • Great Phone but Not For Use with Other Carriers

One of my closest friends had a Samsung Blast with T-Mobile. After I had played with it a little I decided I liked the font, the layout, the QWERTY keypad and the slider style of the phone. So I purchased one for use with AT&T, because normally phones that work with T-Mobile can work with AT&T. It has great sound quality and it would be my favorite phone IF it wasn't branded to T-Mobile. I cannot receive or send picture messages or any type of MMS because I do not have T-Mobile. Which was such a disappointment, because I'm very happy with AT&T and the phone fits my lifestyle perfectly. Unfortunately I send a lot of MMS because I have friends across the state and across the country and I like to share photos with them quickly. It does send and receive SMS with no problem, so if you aren't ...

  • Semi-QWERTY Fully Functional The 'Mullet of Mobile'

I liked the SGH-T719 which was a very sedate two tone grey flip phone from Samsung. You could whip it out in any business meeting and no one would even notice. Then T-Mobile changed direction and what a good direction they took! From the grey flannel button down look they went uptown to the "mullet of mobile phones". We all know a mullet is "business in the front and party in the back." The black front of the Blast is the business end. The deep crimson red on the back of the phone was meant for partying. The Business End 1- Semi-QWERTY SureType keypad. I call it a double tap. You can get to any letter with two taps. Need an "s"? Two taps is all you need, not four like on conventional keypads. Some letters require only a single tap. This will speed your thoughts and feelings on their way ...

  • Good but not the best

I have this phone, and had it for almost a year. Its a good phone, with a bright screen and tons of features, including email and music player. Whats bad about it is that dust/dirt can easily get into the back slot under the camera. I accidentally dropped my phone in sand, and a lot of sand got inside. What i did was use a gas-duster can to blow everything out of it, and works perfectly again. Also, the MicroSD slot is extremely hard to insert/remove since its so much inside the phone, you need like long nails or a tool (fork/toothpick/etc) to get out the chip. But other than the MicroSD slot and the open space in the back, its a really good phone, and will last for a long time if used properly and taken care of.

  • Pretty great phone!

I love this phone simply for one reason- it is incredibly responsive and quick. Well, all Samsung phones are. Thats why I switched from Sony Ericsson to this. I also like the memory card slot, as I didn't have one previously. Now I can use my favorite songs as ringtones! The bluetooth is great too. The only thing that I thought was a bit strange were the keys. I'm 17 so I text pretty fast, and sometimes it seems that the phone cannot "keep up" with me. I usually have to slow down so the phone can properly register quick input. Other than that, I love the numbered shortcuts, the simplicity and all the organizational tools. Plus, I think the battery life is excellent. It's not the most amazing phone I've seen, but its definitely my favorite one so far.
