About this product

Product Information

Dick Vitale provides color commentary for the sequel to 1999's March Madness with EA SPORTS' NCAA March Madness 2000 for the PlayStation game console. Retaining the similar play style of the previous versions with both Arcade and Simulation modes, March Madness 2000 promises an exciting basketball experience with new motion-captured moves and a Rivalry Mode.

With over 200 teams to choose from, including 50 new teams from the IVY, MEAC, SWAC, West Coast and Southern Conferences, EA SPORTS tries to capture the excitement of college hoops by giving the user complete control with every player, good or bad. This includes team-specific playbooks and styles, real school fight songs, and the Momentum Meter (which shows you how "hot" you currently are). Think you have what it takes to play in the Women's Sweet 16? It takes more than peer pressure when it comes to the top 16 women's teams in a national tournament battle.

Some improved features include Dynamic Ball Control, which allows players to perform revolutionary control of ankle-breaking crossovers, sick stutter step moves and more. Take on the best with the Deeper Dynasty Mode to build a powerhouse with national recruiting and "red-shirting" over multiple seasons. Or try your luck by winning conference championships and fighting for bids in the Big Dance .

Other modes like Tourney Madness gives you the option to review injury reports, rosters, brackets (Tournament, Regional, or Final Four), team and player statistics, game rules and audio options. How about your usual features like fatigue, auto fatigue in or out, game speed, shot, steal, deflect and block frequency, dunk window, score overlay, sub and play notification, auto replay, player indicator, substitutions, half length, skill level (freshman, sophomore, junior or senior) and injuries.

Take control of multiple camera angles, instant replays, timeouts and game stats. In Coaching Mode you can choose your offensive, defensive, inbounding and rebounding strategies, and setting up defensive match-ups. Your memory card can save all relevant information including backup options, user and all-time records. The Roster Manager gives you freedom to reorder a roster, and delete or red-shirt players.

The Create Players feature lets you utilize six attributes for your custom player including vital stats, recruit info, shooting, defense, rebounding and ball control. You can even randomize all statistics and attributes with just one button! And you get a total of 600 to 900 points to distribute between your player's skills, which range from zero to 99. The higher the points the better your player is at that particular skill.

The game also features demo video clips from NASCAR 2000 and NASCAR Rumble. And finally, one of the more popular features is the use of the Multi Tap. In this case you can have up to eight players play cooperative or competitively. Last but not least, your standings can be saved to a memory card with 14 blocks of space. With all the options and features available for the 1999 to 2000 season, NCAA March Madness 2000 will have you yelling "Dipsy-doo dunkaroo" as you count down to the Final Four.

NCAA March Madness 2000 does so many things right that even video-game basketball fans who have never cared about college sports should give it a try. The control, AI, and overall presentation is top-notch. EA Sports has completely outdone itself with March Madness 2000, since the game offers more options and features than even NBA Live 2000. The game offers so much for fans of college ball. For starters, it has more than 150 Division I teams, 16 women's team, plus 20 of the greatest college basketball teams ever, including the '64 UCLA Bruins, the '83 North Carolina Tar Heels, and the '91 UNLV Runnin' Rebels. In all, the game features more than 200 teams, each of which has specific playbooks, styles, and fight songs. You can take any of the teams through the tournament or go for a quick ...

  • Good purchase

I really don't have that much to say. Not a hundred characters a least. But this is a game I bought 4 weeks ago. And It was easy to purchase and on time!!! I don't know what I did for it to be sent to my school address which was the reason for it took so long for me to responed back. I was making sure that I got it. But that's all.

  • you get what you paid for.

Nice older game, there is really nothing special or bad about it,it's just an older game that you really won't play that much now days.
