Good for the most part
As others have commented, the thread that screws into the metal base is a bit imperfect. Mine had a thin injection moulding ridge across the threads; but with care and a bit of lubrication (I used silicone grease) the thread can be located and the process of screwing it home cuts through the moulding imperfections. My torch is now restored to it's former glory.

Works but pricey
The product works! The quality is not overly impressive, but it does work. It is outrageously expensive, but better than disposing of the torch. It does not come with an 'O' ring, so carefully remove the old one and fit. LED Lenser deserve the most criticism for producing an expensive torch with a totally unreliable switch.. Many, many other buyers have been let down by the same fault. They should be offering a cheap replacement, not this company. Just DON'T buy a LED Lenser torchThe product works! LED torch replacement battery holder and switch.
Like many other reviewers, I found the threads on this unit to be a bit different to that in the torch. Only perseverance and a little ingenuity got it to fit. Having done it once I would purchase and fit again but recognising a little risk.

This replacemnet battery cage fitted as expected. No problems at all with the thread, as some reviewers mention. It screwed in nicely first time. I reused the O-ring form the old baterry cage that had "melted" when the Duracell batteries (supplied with the torch) leaked. I can't call this good value but it's the going rate for this part. I feel this is to do with brand not the seller. My torch now works. This replacemnet battery cage fitted as expected. No problems at all with the thread, as some reviewers mention. Over priced, but what can you do.
A bit of plastic and a on/off switch for 12 quid, don't get alot for your money. The quality of my one I received was not good. When I did the battery cage up to where it should be the on/off button didn't work, I had to unwind it a hole turn for it to work.
