The Benro GD3WH 3-way Geared Head has been on my horizon for a while, but I was unsure because some reviews said it was heavy. Anyway a good opportunity arose and I bit the bullet, I'm glad I did - the head is not as heavy as I had been led to believe and on my Novo Explora T10 tripod it is quite manageable. I have only been out with it once, it only arrived last week, and I was very impressed with how easy it is to operate and to fine tune composition. All in all I think this is a brilliant piece of kit.

First impressions are that this is a well made and reasonably light tripod head. Quick release override for all three axes works well. Gear driven movement are smooth operators. Knobs for all three axes are well positioned. Need to use for a few more tasks to confirm first impressions.

Benro has a good name for quality and this geared head is no exception. Providing the product has been looked after there is no reason to worry about condition for a 'used' sale. This is the case here.

Replace a ball head with geared head just for the sake of TS-E lens. Leveling the camera is now a walk in the park. Even with a tele mounted at nodal point, there's no creep at all. There's no way to set all axis too loose mode, so you'll lose the fluidity of ball head.
