If you need graphing, PASS. If you need power in numbers GRAB IT!
This is a powerful calculator with multiple display and entry formats. Multiple programs can be written and stored, then called upon by a short user given name on a menu. The language is a very twisted, and limited form of BASIC, but certainly functional. Keys don't have a good solid click, like the old TI's had, but are feather touch that takes a second to get used to. The display is multi-line text only. There are no graphing abilities. Don't buy one without a manual - you'll never figure it out, but once you get the feel of it, it eventually becomes natural to you. The cover opens and folds back on itself. I find the finish of the case slippery and difficult to hold onto. Thin enough, but too large to call it pocket sized - this is for the desk or bench, not ... Imagine this calculator as a "fx-991ES PLUS" without unit conversion, of course this one has programming capabilities so you can just add them, thats the only bad thing I can say about this calculator, hard cover, nice buttons, 4 line display, natural text display (equations appear in screen as they are written in your notebook) ENG unit capabilities, 7x7 MAT.... Small programs
To make small programs in a small calculator I like this size and display but the keyboard is confusing. It&apos;s a good product but older texas ti 59 does the same, more simple.

I miss buttons from previous versions. Now they are grouped.
Great benefit vs cost.Clean design.Big display. A lot of functions and features inside.I think it should have an interface with PC for easy programming.

Best scientific calculator I have tested.
I bought it because it was programmable and it looked it worked like the Casio FX-115ES Scientific Calculator. It is easier to do solve and calc then the FX-115ES and has many built in formulas and you can also have user defined formulas. They advertise the FX-5800P as Business/Scientific Calculator. There are no Business Formulas on this calculator. The calculator is great but I don't need another but for those looking for a fast Scientific calculator this is for you. Not sure what tests (SAT etc.) you can use it on.I bought it because it was programmable and it looked it worked like the Casio FX-115ES Scientific Calculator.
