    Man about the House

    I loved all the old sit-coms and am so pleawed I can now build up a complete collection on all my favourites. I loved Man About the House in my teens and the follow up series of George & Mildred and Robin's Nest. My collection of these is nearly complete and are suitable for a third generation to enjoy watching with me. These are suitable for all ages.

    man about the house - 2nd series

    i have always loved this programme. i remember watching it as a child in the 70's, and it is exactly as i remember it. fantastic and highly catchy theme tune , robin on his funky moped, crissy losing her shoe and jo with the wrong umbrella. then you had the landlords living downstairs. george and mildred roper. who remembers her catch phrase "DOWN GEORGE " . it has dated slightly, (but don't we all) but it is still 100 times better than todays rubbish. add a fantastic cast , richard o sullivan , brian murphy, yootha joyce, sally thomsett and the lovely lovely paula wilcox , excellent thames television crew , it's an absolute peach of a comedy series. six series and only 36 episodes were made. but it will live forever thanks to dvd.

    Man About The House - The Complete Second Series (DVD)

    Probably Thames Televisions' greatest sitcom (well it did run for 6 series, generate a spin-off sitcom in George and Mildred, and had a successful full-lenght film about it), and a very pleasant walk down memory lane (my original reason for buying it). The standard of acting is high (for a sitcom of that era) with superb characterisation by ALL of the cast, and the humour is completely in-offensive in any way (no violence, no bad language, etc). 'Man about the House' is still very funny today - 30+ years on - and is well received by my daughter who is seeing it for the first time. Once you have got past the fashions of the day you can enjoy the kind of family entertainment that provides genuine laughs. This has proven to be a big hit with my family. I cannot think of any down-sides to this ...

    Man about the House DVD

    I bought this for my partner. Suppose trying to rekindle the olden days and the memories I have of them! Was really disappointed. Some old series have really maintained themselves with time - this one hasn't! Some series are best left in the decade they were made!
