The weakest of the Trilogy
Note the review title, and then note the rating I gave this film. Though this is the weakest of the "Oldboy", "Sympathy Lady" and "Sympathy Mr" trilogy, it still sounds out as a superb film. The characters, the standard of acting, the incredibly slow build up, the musical score (Jeez, that was really something). The film laughs in the face of categorization, the one caveat being it won't be suitable for anyone who can't handle very graphic violence. In places it is incredibly funny, touching (the girls acting as the daughter puts in a stellar performance). An incredible film and a reference point for all budding Directors out there. Outstanding Film
My first experience of the Vengeance Trilogy was with Old Boy, which I thought was awesome. I was blown away when I watched Sympathy for Mr Vengeance a few weeks later. It is a brilliant revenge movie and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Korean cinema. I'm now off to watch Lady Vengeance!!

Weakest of the trilogy but still great!
Saw the film Oldboy and was intrigued when I found it was part of director Chan- Wook Park's "Revenge Trilogy". This film is great, but also not for the fainthearted! Some violent and distressing scenes. Very sad too. The actors are excellent and you feel sympathy for more than one of the characters. Deals with the futility of revenge. Everyone seems to want revenge in this film and no good comes of it.Film is in Korean with subtitles, but this didn't affect my enjoyment of the film - don't let it put you off! If you liked it - I recommend "Oldboy" - the most disturbing story of the three and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" - my personal favourite. My favourite
This is the best film i have ever seen. Pretty violent (some scenes will make you cringe) and by the end of the film , it really lives up to its title. Twisted, like most asia extreme films - this is deffinatly (i cannot express this enough) the greatest tale of love, hate and revenge Watch it - or you will miss what i believe to be a true classic
