Bad Company's Best (iMHO)
The vinyl version of this was one of my first albums. I'm not a heavy rocker, but this album is REALLY well put together. The songs are metal enough to make me feel like a badass, but melodic and pleasant to listen to without worrying about brain damage. The quality of the vocals is unusually good for this genre, and the instrumentals are clean and not overproduced. I was considering digitizing my vinyl, but the option of getting a remastered CD of one of my all time favorites actually pried a few bucks out of this tightwad's hands.The vinyl version of this was one of my first albums. " Run With The Pack" Bad Company
"Run With The Pack" is a must for Bad Company fans. Nice mix of rockers and ballads which was common with Bad Company. This one was hard to find and out of print for quite a while (1976) ... Excellent mix in the new CD version which sometimes falls short on re-mastered albums moved to CD format. For those who like to rock, "Honey Child", "Sweet Little Sister", "Live for the Music" and of course the title track "Runnin'with the Pack" are real rockers .. excellent acoustic work mixed in and throughout the album make it enjoyable from beginning to end.. this CD also includes the superb song "Silver Blue and Gold" which is an absolute classic Bad Company tune. 5 Stars for this one...... Classic Bad Company. Most of the songs on this album are great like the title track and "Silver, Blue, and Gold"--a great hard rock ballad. This album is more sophisticated and somewhat more heavily produced than their first, self-titled album. That can be good or bad, depending on your taste. But it's really apples and oranges, each is very good in its own right. This CD has been remasterd, and the sound is OK, even almost good, but don't let the fact that it has been remastered fool you into thinking it is audiophile quality, it's not, it still fails to achieve 3 dimensional sound quality, which is really too bad. Maybe MFSL and Steve Hoffman can tackle this one sometime soon, it would be well worth it, and I would be a buyer for sure, even at the premium ... Classic Bad Company.
