Good idea but poor choice of materials
Many reviews focus on the limited gripping power of the magnets and that they are too easily displaced. I thought this missed the point as I saw the magnets as a means of positioning the awning while a more secure attachment using throw-over lines was made and the provision of loops for this purpose caused this particular connector stand above those competitors whose strips lacked them. Thus enthused I ordered one and, as expected, the magnets were clearly not going to be strong enough to cope with much of a blow but the three supplementary loops were ideal for attaching to the suction cups I used with my previous awning so no problems were anticipated. I tied a cord (approx 8mm) to the two outer loops and attached these to my suction cups which held well. I was disappointed to find only ... I was disappointed to find only one centre loop but a cord passed through and secured to a pair of suction cups should have sufficed but... passing this cord through the loop just once caused the loop material to melt from the friction (see photograph). This is simply not acceptable and indicates inappropriate materials were used as I don't think it unreasonable that something provided for rope to be passed through should last longer than the trial attachment in the back garden. As a consequence I rejected this connection strip and it is being returned for refund.

Useless Product
The reason for ordering this was to use instead of having to use the straps. It’s useless, the magnets are not strong enough and when I complained I got told they recommend using in conjunction with another fixing??? So what’s the point I may as just use the other fixing. Don’t waste your money buying this.
