Previously confined to an old mansion, the Umbrella corporation's legacy of fatal mutations has spilled over into nearby Raccoon City. The once peaceful town is now overrun with zombies and all manner of genetic mutations. New police recruit Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, the sister of STARS agent Chris Redfield, find themselves in the middle of an experiment gone horribly wrong. The sequel to Shinji Mikami's breakthrough title, Resident Evil 2 provides two intertwining adventures for players to embark upon. After completing the game with either Chris or Claire, players can restart the title as the other character in order to gain a different perspective of the mysterious goings on in Raccoon City. In addition, certain actions taken by the player on the first playthrough will affect the second game. For example, if Leon were to take an automatic weapon out of a particular locker, that weapon would not be there when Claire finally makes her way to the room. Ada Wong and Sherry Birkin are two members of the supporting cast, and whose paths the player will cross on multiple occasions. Gameplay remains untouched from the first title, requiring players to destroy any undead creatures that get in their way, obtain items in order to solve puzzles, ink ribbons to save their game, and ultimately, to get to the bottom of the mysterious circumstances surrounding the hellish nightmare that Raccoon City has become. Weapons and ammunition are scattered throughout the city, but the number of items that can be carried at once is limited, requiring players to make use of item boxes spread around their environments.

Best game in the Series
Resident Evil 7 is great, but it does not compare to the horror and survival of Resident Evil 2. RE7 holds a lot of horror, but RE2 shows desperation. People are trying to run out of Racoon City in desperation for survival. The story, the music and the characters are amazing. Definitely a worthy buy.

Resident Evil 2 brings back the Horror of the zombie infested mansion from the original game, in a bigger, longer, 2 part installment. This time, you need to navigate and escape the Raccoon city police station, and the sewer system and secret research facility below. This game has 2 parts, Scenario A, and scenario B, with the 2 scenarios intersecting to tell the whole story. Both character choices can play as either scenario, with their own individual support character. The graphics are similar to its predecessor, whilst using the same pre rendered backgrounds and fixed camera angles add to the horror and allow for more detailed characters and enemies. Another great musical score adds suspense to the game play. The ranking system is back, and if you manage to score enough points based on ... There are 2 difficulty modes, "easy" and "normal" The amount of ammo is doubled for easy mode, as well as being a few less enemies to kill. Overall, for its time, this is a brilliant game. It is compelling to play again and again, trying both characters for each scenario. It is compatible with the playstation 1 console, the playstation 2 console, and the playstation 3 console. For the Playstation 1 and 2 console it will require a playstation 1 memory card, and will take up 2 of the 15 blocks to save. The playstation 3 will require you to format an internal memory card on the system, using some of the hard drive space. The original black label release has some awesome disc art, identifying which character the disc is for.

Great retro PS1 game!
Been a while since I’ve played this but really enjoy this game. Less creepy than Resident Evil 1 but better graphics and more fluid game play. Did forget how many zombies can come at you in one go!
