    Dell E173FP 17 inch

    Great product. I bought this for my boss's company. The great thing about thin LCD monitors these days is that they are fairly inexpensive to own. However, you must be on guard for poor models. The E173FP is not one of those. You can pick them up for 50-80 dollars used. The specs are not the highest in today's standards. Meaning it's not the highest contrast and HD output. But lets be honest here. Unless you are a cinematographer like me, using the monitors for film editing, you DON'T need the top resolution. Companies use that number as a selling point. I mean can you tell a difference, yes, but its not significant. Is it worth an extra hundred dollars on top of the monitor price...that depends on your opinion, I don't believe it is.     Great monitor for the money

    Already had one of these monitors, wanted to have a dual screen setup so I got a second. The second was used in a business, so it has lots of usage hours, and the colors are still very bright. The thin design takes up much less space than the Dell 1905. Adjustment controls are easy to access and use. I especially like how the Auto-Adjust can be triggered with only one button push, no menus to go through. Overall a great monitor, and since it is an older model, the price is usually lower than other comparable models. Highly recommended.

    Awkward aspect ratio, direct mains power - no separate power supply brick

    Bought used for a Dell tower that needed a monitor. The aspect ratio is awkward for a computer monitor. Widescreen would have been better. Spreadsheets don't display well on a square screen. A little bit dim in a bright office but otherwise okay. Built-in power supply is okay by me. I never liked the separate brick switching power supplies as they tend to get in the way.

    Excellent for a home-school child

    When the wife and I wanted to get our two home-schooled children their own classroom computer systems, we turned to eBay (of course). The daughter using this monitor is very much into Disney Channel, Neopets and the like; I wanted a monitor that would fit onto her already-crowded desk while providing crisp video for both schoolwork and her fun stuff. And the price was much better than anything I could find locally on a comparable monitor. Images appear to be nearly as good as those on my wife's MAG Innovision CRT, and only a bit inferior to the 19" Viewsonic CRT my other daughter (who is very much into graphic arts) uses. Colors are very natural; both text and graphics look very good on it. The screen refreshes quickly enough for anything my daughter does with her ...

    VIEWING Beautifully

    I bought the Dell 17 inch LCD Monitor approximately 5 weeks ago and our family has been extrememly happy ever since. The clarity of the screen and the viewing capacity can not be beat. The ease of installation is another terrific feature and the directions are very easy to follow. I would highly recommend this product to any one who would like to upgrade their viewing capability. The nicest part was that it was a great deal using ebay.
