The series moves from the fading N64 console to the more powerful GameCube in this edition, which includes all of the most popular features from earlier releases in the series as well as new graphical enhancements and gameplay tweaks. Gamers can play realistic, official rules football, or choose their favorite star QB to enter the signature Quarterback Challenge skills competition. Again endorsed by legendary Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre, this edition of the game features all 31 NFL teams and rosters based on the most recent (2000-2001) season. Gamers can also unlock the chance to play as past stars like Dan Marino, Steve Young, and John Elway. Games are presented in the popular television broadcast style and called by veteran sportscasters Kevin Harlan and Bill Maas.
