This is a wonderful book that shows how Jean Martin creates rich, exciting paintings based on floral arrangements. She details how she does it, listing materials, making step-by-step demos. Her paintings are so complexly colorful and unusual. I find something new each time I look... unlike the popular close-up views of flowers that over-run watercolor shows these days. Lots to learn here, even if the subject is portraits or landscapes. Highly recommended!
I liked this book so much, I couldn't put it down. The cover on the book doesn't do the artists work justice. While the artist paints a busy scene, and she uses too many dark leaves. But I think I could learn quite a bit from this book
I have my own business. I sew dolls, purses, quilts, and things like that. I started to learn to paint about a year ago. I want to paint wildflowers and do not want to spend lots of money on books. This book is very nice. Whether I learn to paint that good, I do not know. haha
