  • Great starting point for portraits

I bought this lens for a crop-sensor camera after borrowing the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM to shoot a wedding and loving it. On my budget at the time I didn't want to spend on the Canon version (even the non-stabilised one) so decided to enter the 70-200mm f/2.8 market with this Sigma version, with the intention of reselling later should I decide to make the switch to the Canon later. However, apart from not being stabilised (which is definitely a nice feature, especially nearer the 200mm length), at the moment I'm happy with my Sigma lens. The lens is really well-built, looks and feels beautiful. I've had two Sigma lenses before and had slight focus issues with one of them, and having heard people saying that they had bought this lens and that it was too soft towards the long end at ...

  • Superb Sigma

This is a fast lens both with it's focus and it's light gathering ability. Seems to be very well built although the velvet like finish on the lens is prone to scratch. I have not had any problems with this lens and have been very pleased with the bokeh and depth of field that can be achieved with this lens - ok so it's not a Nikon, but then neither is the price. Very worthwhile for the money.

  • My reason to get a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 HSM Nikon fit

I decided to purchase this lens against the Nikon 70-200 purely because of price (£1000 cheaper) and i was not disappointed it produces fabulous sharp images throughout the range without ghosting or flare it is a sturdy very well built lens and comfortable to hold without being to heavy and i would recommend this lens to anyone wanting to purchase a 70-200mm f/2.8 Nikon FIT lens if the cost is an issue

  • Sigma 70-200 f2.8 hsm

Could not afford the layout of canon's 70-200 f2.8 l lens. so decided to try the sigma version. it's a bit soft at f2.8 but stopped down to f4 and the photo's are really sharp this version is the non dg version.i would recommend this lens to anybody who is on a tight budget.excellent lens

  • As Good as it Gets

I have used both the Canon L series 70-200 f/2.8 and this sigma and in all honesty I have to say that apart from being a bit heavier than the Canon The sigma seems faster focusing, quieter and more sharp than the canon and on top of all that its half the price, a top quality Lens
