2010 debut from the former American Idol contestant, who placed third in season eight on the popular TV competition. Gokey's life before American Idol embodies the themes that populate the Country music lexicon, from his humble roots in a poor but loving family to his hard-working days as a truck driver to the loss of his wife. Gokey entered the studio determined to craft a debut album filled with songs that mattered. 'I definitely have something to say with this album and I think people will recognize that,' he says. 'Music was the catalyst that helped bring healing, a determination and a resolve. When my wife passed, I tried out for American Idol and music brought me hope. It brought me a reason to live again. Now I want to bring that into my music.'

    relaxing

    This cd is relaxing to listen to and so many of the songs are songs that I can relate to. I can listen to the cd and recognize some experiences of my life in the words and know that I came through them just fine.

    Excellent, Feel-good CD

    I love this CD and play it frequently. It has a little bit of everything on it too...a love song (Crazy Not To), rocker (Get Away), ballad (Tiny Life), gospel sound (I Still Believe), etc. I had a copy of this CD that I continually moved from the house to the car so this was a much needed duplicate. This is a CD you can play around kids and grandma too and not worry about them learning the words and singing along. It is a great debut CD by a guy that is extremely talented. I bought copies for friends and family for Christmas. Don't hesitate to buy this one!

    One step closer to my dream

    I love Danny Gokey as an artist. I followed him in American Idol in 2009 and was satisfied that he was top three. I empathized with him when it came to what has happened in his life and his song My Best Days sounds like it applies perfectly to his situation. The whole CD is great, a good mixture of upbeat, slow, and medium speed songs.

    Excellent CD!

    I bought the CD because I loved his voice in American Idol. I wasn't disappointed. I love all of these songs and it's very seldom that I like all the songs on an album. Not only does Danny Gokey have a great voice, but the songs are all great AND they all have meaningful lyrics. That is really rare these days. Danny Gokey is my new favorite artist!
