About this product

Product Information

The fabulous new cookbook from the international No. 1 bestselling chef is guaranteed to dominate the bestseller charts in autumn 07 and beyond This book is very close to my heart. It's about no-nonsense, simple cooking with great flavours all year round. When I began writing it, I didn't really know what recipes I would come up with, but something began to inspire me very quickly... my vegetable patch! I came to realise last year that it's not always about looking out at the wider world for inspiration. Being at home, feeling relaxed and open, can also offer this. I love to spend time at home in the village where I grew up, working with the boss, Mother Nature, in my garden and seeing all my beautiful veggies coming out of the ground. Inside you'll find over 100 new recipes, plus some basic planting information and tips if you fancy having a go at getting your hands dirty as well!

    Disappointing Jamie

This book is spoiled by a mad excess of artwork all over most pages which obscures the text and in many places makes reading impossible. Trying to use this book is very frustrating...whoever was responsible for this design mess should go back to Art School for a refresher course I expect the recipes are OK , but how would I get to know?

  • Handy, interesting & well worth picking up a copy

An older book of Jamie's that I've been wanting for ages after seeing TV repeats of the programme that accompanies this book. Full of handy & interesting facts about different vegetables, how to grow, harvest & store them in your garden/balcony/potting bucket, plus many good, simple, lovely recipes using them. I've already tried three recipes and had good success with them. And, as always with Jamie recipes, it's totally fine to tweak them yourself to suit your needs and your current store cupboard ingredients. I picked this up on eBay second-hand for 2 quid and consider myself rather lucky as it is a great buy!!!

  • A great addition to any kitchen and an excellent buy!

I bought this book mainly because i have started to grow my own fruit and veg and i wanted some tips. I remember seeing the "Jamie at Home" series on the T.V and i was curious to see if the book lived up to the T.V series. I have to admit i was a little disappointed that is wasn't as "scrapbook" as i had expected. I wanted it to be more like what the programme suggested it might be but thats really just cosmetic. The book is divided into recipes based around the different things you can grow. For example there is a chapter on strawberries with some great strawberry recipes. Then at the end of the chapter there are some detailed tips and advice about how to grow your own strawberries. This is the part i was most interested in as i have fantasies about living the good life and trundling ...

  • Love it!

Amazing book, I can't wait to grow my veggies in my new garden. We've grown them last year, but with tips and tricks from the book it'll be just perfect- The recipes are really good. I absolutely love this book!

  • Bought as a gift. Now I want one.

My mum has been watching this on catch up. As her birthday was coming up I found a second hand copy and the content is amazing. Not only the usual recipes featured in the series but how and when to plant the vegetables and even ideas on where to buy the seeds. Lovely lay out and easy to read. A great book.
