Best Value Market for Small Mixer

Best value mixer for the price and features. Comparable product reviews for Mackie and other brands were significantly negative compared to the Yamaha MG06X. Although I do have some low-level signal noise coming from a pre-amp with RCA cables going into the Yamaha, the cause might be due to the relatively cheap preamp I am using for my TV optical out Might need a DI box. For the price, the MG06X cannot be beat. I did the research.

    • solid

An improvement is when Yamaha added effects. This helps with live shows by going into a clean channel on an amp and adding echo and reverb. As a mixer it's better and stronger then most of this type. The thing that wasn't good for me was plugging in a speaker that didn't have power. What did work was having enough plus to get all my effects and being able to mix them into one outlet. Many small mixers can also do this. The unit is small and strong and can take a bit of bouncing around without damaging it.

    • Super quiet, tons of features in a small package

I'm very impressed with this mixer. I wanted something that was super-quiet and portable to run multiple inputs with two balanced outputs into two powered monitors. I use this as an amplification system for my classical guitars with piezo pickups, and a strum dulcimer project which uses both an active/powered pickup and a passive acoustic transducer mixed thru two channels. It's got enough gain to run a passive bridge piezo or a passive transducer plugged directly into it without introducing a lot of noise, and sounds STELLAR using the output of an onboard active piezo system from a classical guitar. Initially I planned to run the DI / balanced effects output from a Fishman ToneDEQ thru it to split the signal into two balanced outputs, but I'm finding that the mixer is actually quieter ...

    • Perfect for the mobile DJ!

Love this mixer. I actually downsized from a larger 12-channel to this Yamaha. Turns out the sound quality from the MG06x is much better than my previous mixer, you can hear the difference over the PA speakers. The XLRs outs are rare and a nice touch. 2 mic inputs with effects (good for impromptu singers at events), and 2 stereo inputs (L+R x 2) are just what I need for all my gigs, even if I had to plug in an Aux source, or another DJ's equipment. All this for something that fits in my hand, and stows away easily in my laptop backpack. Recommended!

    • Yamaha MG06X with echo

Yamaha compact audio mixer looks great, perform well with my karaoke system. It has echo and reverb for a better experience. My tv input in to channel 5, both wireless mics plug in mixer with XLR, main out to a pair of powered speaker. Simple but works well !!!
