This was the last comedy series to be created and co-written by the late, great David Croft (this time, with Richard Spendlove) and starred 'Hi-De-Hi' and 'You Rang M'Lord?' favourites Paaul Shane, Su Pollard and Jeffrey Holland, alongside Stephen Lewis and Julia Deakin. It is set in 1963, in a sleepy, rural branch-line station called Hatley, that is under threat of closure by the radical Transport Minister of the day, Dr. Beeching. Only two Seasons were ever written and filmed (nine episodes in Season One and ten in Season Two) - so this collection is the complete set. A wonderful, engaging, very British comedy that leaves you wanting more!

Although this is a good comedy i don`t think it is as good as other series that some of the same actors in. example you rang my lord and hi-de-hi. Sue Pollard is great fun as she is in everythingelse she`s been in. I`m pleased i purchased it and would recommend it,

A gentle look back at a time I remember well. Dr Beeching basically decided (because he could) that he would shut down all the small railway branch lines to save money. This comedy, mainly starring the cast of Hi de Hi, You Rang M'Lord works well and although there are no 'full on' belly laughs it still manages to create a great comedic atmosphere with the interplay between the characters. Paul Shane normally plays the 'Jack The Lad' type part but is on the receiving end this time when an old flame of his wife turns up as his boss, won't say too much as this will spoil the plot. Buy and enjoy, recommended.

This is a superb comedy from the Perry/Croft team (with Richard Spendlove's pen). It is well acted and my only peeve is that it only ran for two seasons.
