Microsoft's first tennis game for the Xbox offers a total of 16 athletes to choose from as players attempt to attain a number one ranking on the professional circuit. The option also exists for players to create their own tennis stars, even going so far as to inject them with traits such as talking to their racket after aces, yelling at line judges for poor calls, or slamming the racket down in disgust after a missed shot. Athletes can also play to the crowd, becoming a fan favorite no matter which court is selected -- hard court, clay, or grass. Players will be able to perform slices, lobs, spins, and drops while returning the ball as they compete against friends or the computer in a variety of game modes. Top Spin also supports the Xbox Live broadband service for multiplayer competition based on an online ranking system.

One of the finest sporting games on the market.
Top Spin provides a fun and realistic game of tennis. You can customize your own player from the size of his nose to the style of his hair. Then you can travel around the world learning from different coaches and improving various skills. You can compete in tournaments around the world, facing oppenents from every nationality. The gameplay is simple enough for anyone to pick up, but complex enough to keep you playing for a very, very long time. The graphics and physics are accurate and impressive. Top Spin provides realistic gameplay for all ages and skill levels. It is hands down the best tennis game available and one of the best in the spors genre.Top Spin provides a fun and realistic game of tennis. Top Spin. Great or Greatest

I played this game and let me tell you that this game rocks!!!! Gameplay: You can build your own player and then go on a tour mode. The tour mode is so awsome that you can play for ever and the online is awsome. Graphics: The graphics are beautiful and the areas are fantastic. The players look perfect and the arenas are beautiful. Sound: When you hear the music then you will want to hear it over and over again. When you hear this music you feel like you are playing a tennis game. Value: You can play for hours and hours trying to finish the tour mode. The gameplay is very long and the online can last forever. An excellent game ... lots of options.. provides options to set your profile including appearance and playing style.. like in real world, a person has to play in small tournaments to grow in rankings and find a sponsor.. has to earn credits for each skill that he masters... and then can play in Grand Slams.. wonderful, all day entertainment.. A mediocre tennis game not worth linking.
There is little more to state than the title already says. I purchased this game for the simple fact that it can be linked between 2 xbox systems. This does absolutely nothing to improve the gameplay. The view still switches between games (meaning half of the time you are in the far court), which is totally unnecessary with 2 xboxes and 2 tvs. As a matter of fact, I think it would be as (or more) fun just to play with 4 people on one tv. The game itself offers different shots, but they don't seem to give you much of an advantage. To sum it up; this is not a bad game per se, but there are plenty of others more worthy of your time. That is unless you are a tennis fan and would like to play as some familiar pros...There is little more to state than the title already says.
