I’ve been wanting a pair of these pedals for over 5 years and so glad I found a 2nd hand pair on eBay. I commute 30+ miles a day in Greater London and The City and used to use pedals that clip in both sides. That meant I could only comfortably ride if wearing my clip-in shoes, which are quite heavy and stiff (I use MTB shoes). Now I can take trips on my bike in normal trainers or shoes and it’s changed everything! I feel like I don’t want to use any other pedal now. Really comfortable on the flat side, with enough grip to feel secure and still easy to find the other side of the pedals when wearing my SPD shoes. I would recommend these pedals if you use SPD shoes for commuting or races but also use the same bike for more relaxed leisure riding. If you don’t want to wear your SPD shoes each and every time you ride your bike - these pedals are perfect.Read full review

The pedals are great when regularly riding with normal shoes (like daily to train station) as well with cycle shoes (weekends) It does take getting use to getting the relevant function on top ad often you need to lift your shoe to turn it around. It is a bit of a hassle to get use to it. It would be great if they could introduce a quick flip counter weight to help the default function.

These pedals are sturdy and offer the flexibility of either being clipped in or not. Being clipped is useful but If you are riding in conditions where you need to put a foot down unexpectedly then it is good to not be clipped in - this may be mountain biking over steep rough terrain when the bike grinds to a sudden stop or on the road approaching a junction with late visibiliby to the left and right ie you get to the junction only to find approaching traffic forces an immediate stop. Also sometimes I jump on the bike to ride to the supermarket and dont want to change into bike gear ie I am wearing ordinary shoes.so again riding on the flat pedals is useful. Now I mentioned - sturdy ie these pedals do carry a little extra weight over fully clipless pedals but a) I think the additional flexibility is worth it b) Were I worried about a few grams weight then I should lose a kilo or 2 - (It is healthier and cheaper than a carbon fibre frame)Read full review

The only drawback of these pedals is the weight, they are a bit heavy hence only 4 stars. Other than that they are great - allowing you to clip in securely when either on the road or riding fast on rutted and bumpy surfaces and then be able to flip the pedal over for a wide platform pedal when you might need to put a foot down quickly on a steep climb or descent.

Second set of these. First set broke during a long distance ride. Axel snapped and pedal came off revealing a stump of an axel. Fingers crossed this pair will last a little bit longer. Look sturdy but dont seem to be able to put up with the use I give them.... Maybe I'll beb luckier this time. How do I lubricate these? Is there a way of adding grease to the bearings from time to time?
