One of the best PVR’s still, out there but be aware that BBC iPlayer and ITV hub no longer work. IPlayer has been updated and is no longer supported as is ITV Hub (replaced by ITV X). This is for most older boxes, not just the Humax. There are a number of workarounds for this thought such as an Amazon Firestick or Google Chrome-cast, or stream from your phone direct to the TV. Most tv’s now support this. As for the box itself, it is really easy to use, with excellent picture quality. Record two programmes simultaneously, if required, and the 500Gb storage allows for a very large library to be stored. It also allows video and and photos to be viewed using the inbuilt menus. All in all, a great recorder even without catch up TV but knocked a star off for that.

Living in rural Wales we rely upon freesat TV.. Our main box is a higher spec Humax which has been 100% for over 6 years. This simpler version is to link a smaller TV, no need for recording etc., it was very quick and easy to install and I trust it will last longer than the previous make which failed after 15 months.

This is my first effort at Freesat. I have been on Sky for years. This box is small and light and was easy to set up. I would like to have had one that could record programmes but that was out of my price range. This came reasonably priced and my main reason for going in this direction was to get the HD channels for free. Also to be able to use BBC and ITV i players without having to watch them on my TV. The only thing that I do not like is the fact that when you have looked at the first page of the TV guide, you can only go downwards one channel at a time. I prefer to be able to change a whole page. Apart from that, well recommended.
I bought this unit after reading the reviews of Freesat boxes. Where I live the Freeview terrestrial service is poor so Freesat was the obvious choice.I have been very pleased with the product and it provides faultless pictures including 5 HD channels with extra things that non-Humax boxes won't get, Including films on demand via the internet connection. Iplayer is also a feature and ITV player is currently in Beta version. The only reason I have not given five stars is that there are some minor cracks in the remote control which chafe my hand when using it. Otherwise a highly recommended product that will not disappoint. This item no longer meets the requirements of the Freesat on demand set-up so I have been forced to replace it with a Freetime Box 1100S
