Pirates of The Burning Sea has a lot to offer It's a huge MMORPG, allowing you a great deal of freedom , customisation of your character and ship. PotBS is however a little difficult ,getting into. I've played every major MMORPG out there, and a lot of lesser known ones, I can't say I'm very happy with the tutorial section, its a really steep learning curve . One of the earliest missions (was lvl 6) asked me to to to Port Royale ,only to be waylaid by pirates halfway there, they being lvl 40 . Alot of reading , alot of work to get into this game I think, but when you do it's a rewarding experience, it offers something unique as opposed to all the fantasy themed games out there . I can recommend this easily , if you're into MMORGs and Pirates . Many new to the genre would be able to enjoy this ,but again I at least, thought it a little difficult getting intoRead full review
Graphics and game play are great, I chose the life of a pirate (rather than the French, Spanish or English.) The quests aren't too repetitive and everything is a grind, but you don't realize it as much as with other MMO's (looking at you WoW.) The downside: Laggy, Slow start-up (has to initialize for a while, then scan all of your files), not too many actual players are online either..I found myself sailing for 45 minutes without seeing a single person (however there are those that chat in the server, so they are out there lol.) Overall, I'm glad I got it and can see myself playing for quite a while.
In 2004 I was eager to play a game that involved having control over a ship, from A to Z, and to blast some cannon balls into my enemy's vessel. In 2005 I discovered pirates of the burning seas. I had to wait till the end of 2007 to actually play this game as a beta tester. This one game got me hooked like I never did! Oh boy! The wait paid off and this title, although a niche game, is definatly a must-have for anyone who loves the age of sail, pirates, naval combat, player-driven economy and active guilds. Quick to learn, hard to master, you play several ships over a huge map that has about 100 ports. You'll soon find yourself wanting more spare-time to play this game. If like me you don't like RPG a lot, this game has something for you! I'm converted to being a British merchant now :)
I recently bought the pc game, "Pirates of the Burning Sea" This is a massive multi-player online only game. Needless to say the documentation that comes with the game leaves alot to be desired when trying to learn this vast imersive world of pirates, rum and skullduggery. With this strategy guide a player can reference different ship types, pirate traits and even learn a little about the economy of the Caribean (circa 1700's) I can almost guarantee that you will save yourself some headache and heartaches with this guide. If you are looking for game cheats I suggest you look somewhere else, this is simply a well laid out and informative "Guide" to help you and your loyal crew survive the warm shark infested waters of the Caribean Sea.
I really like this game. But, anyone that is thinking bout buyuing it had better like some serious strategy playing. This game is not an easy one to learn how to play. Graphics are great you get great updates with new ships and missions pvp battle is intense. Took me a month to learn all the controls and how they work. It has an in game ebay auction ran tottally by the players. Overall this game is really really cool!!:)
What a great game. I've played EQ, DAoC, SWG, but this one is alot more fun. The Multiplayer is fun and easy to pick up. The PVP is good and fun. The interfaces are a little complex but all good games are...right?? Anyway I highly recommend this one. If you've played Sid Meier's Pirates! It's Like that...but better...a lot better. It's like comparing a Go-kart to a Sports car better. You get the idea. See you on the Sea. YARRR!!
I bought this game with low hopes. At first, it lived up to that. After playing for a couple hour, and catching some of the basics and more complicated things, I grew to like this game. This game is comparable to a pre-nge swg. Grinding levels doesn't feel like you're grinding. The ships and environment are well done. Looking past a slow start, this game delivers a lot of what any mmo could. Now all it needs is some more players. I give this game 90%.
Better than pirates of the caribbean ..big learning curve...need friends to play higher levels or your dead ...this is an adult game that makes u think unlike the kiddy disney game
Another crappy game. Small ships, tedious in town play. Very few options of what to do. Pathetic battle scenes. Another stinker. Only Sid Meirs "Pirates" has been any fun to play as far as these sailing games go.
The game has been downloading for three days and still has not completed it. This tells me the game is not worth the money they charge for the game nor worth playing, So, I deleted and cancelled my subscription to it.
