I had expected to see a group of bloated over 40's regurgitating past hits and modern flops - to be honest two tracks were superfluous i.e. "Kicked in the teeth by love" and the cover of the Tubes classic "White Punks on Dope" - however the band were really tight with the unexpected inclusion of a female drummer i.e. Samantha from "Hole" - replacing Randy Castillo for that stage of the tour - Mick Mars impressed immensely playing some great lead breaks and - looking as if he was enjoying himslef - think Bill Wyman of the Stones both smiling and getting animated. The stage set was an homage to the seedier side of Holywood - with the backing aingers dressing in various roles from female BDSM cops to the redeemed angels - unexpected extras include the 1st song they ever recorded, unearthed form some tapes lying around, also some documentary footage from the studio discussing the recording of the then new album and a video clip to go with the single. Overall a good introduction to the band, although not the classic video / dvd that was available for the "Dr Feelgood" release - thus a good rather than excellant rating. A word of caution though for the younger audience - the menu features a young model in various states of undress - although the "naughty bits" are pixcellated over...finally if interested in the band - read their autobio "The Dirt" - a warts and all history of the band.Read full review
