The first impressions of this induction hob is very good, it has a nice glass surface which is easy to clean and wipe over. The rest of the hob is plastic but of a decent quality which I presume to be quite resilient to general kitchen use. I like the various functions which are useful if you use a stove top kettle for instance (it can be set to boil water and switch off when it's done) and I look forwards to trying some of the other features. Unlike some other cheaper hobs this one is capable of measuring the temperature of the hot plate meaning there isn't any guess work or risk of things over heating. Some others simply heat for a pre set time. When in use of the things which struck me was that it is quite noisy as the cooling fan runs. However this isn't too much of an issue if you have an extraction fan or oven running as well. Coming from gas however it is noisy. There were no loud audible clicks however, some other cheaper units have loud relays, but this was much quieter in that regard. The size if the hob should be fine for all large and medium sized pans, although if you are using a milk pan or moka pot you might want to invest in an induction plate for it to work properly. After use I left the hob switched on for 10 minutes or so to cool down before unplugging it, by this time it was cool enough to be stored away. I would recommend this hob.Read full review

I'm planning a new kitchen and I was looking at induction hobs but have never used one. I spotted this one at the rediculously low price of about £35 so I thought it's worth that just to try it out. I'm very impressed with this mini hob. At maximum heat it is very fast and minimum is low enough for gentle cooking. After use the ring is warm (conduction from the pan), it can be touched without getting burnt, but it is a bit uncomfortable if contact is maintained. Any splashes clean very easily. The hob has settings for different types of cooking although I have not used them all so I can't say if they work well or not. Amazing value induction hob.

Compared with other brands, Tefal makes a louder buzz at top power. Power ranges from P1-P9, where P3 gives the constant heating, other brands have power from 200W to 2200W where 1000W gives the constant heating, for finer controls of power at lower temperatures Tefal has less to offer (i.e. P1, P2 only). This product works fine otherwise

I bought this as it came out so well in all reviews of induction hobs. I'm considering changing my gas hob and this seemed a good way of trialling it. I love it. I use it every day. I'm not sure I need to change hob as it gives me my 5th ring for a really good price. ( Didn't want to cut granite to accommodate bigger hob.) It boils water more quickly than my kettle and has a lower simmer than modern gas hobs. It's easy to clean. Worth every one of its 5 stars and best buy awards.

Is a lightweight device so is portable and makes storage simple. Surfaces are easy to clean after use. This is quite a powerful hob. Heats very fast. I use a cast iron frying pan which is ideal for induction hobs - only downside is the weight of the pan.

I have also got a dual plate for summer, as I have an Aga for winter. This is really useful to have in the cupboard if you are just wanting to cook something quickly, or need more control than the Aga offers. Small enough to store and get out when needed.

I used to use an old non ceramic electric hob and since changing to this ceramic induction hob I noticed the heat is almost instant and the food cooks a lot quicker. Once cooled down after cooking the hob is easy to clean.
