    I'm an Asimov fan from the get-go. I don't just read his novels & stories, I re-read them, sometimes several times. "Robots and Empire" is one, though, that's gotten by me till now. It's the final installment in his series of robot novels and also features the final appearance of inimitable space detective Lije Baley. Just got it in the mail, so I haven't finished reading it yet, but I can tell you this. The writing is classic Asimov: no frills, witty, fast moving, psychologically taut, with a plot that captured me right off. I also appreciate Asimov's consistent worldview over decades of storytelling (e.g., the settlement of the galaxy by Settlers & Spacers, the role of robots, the technology available), and the fact that women feature prominently in many of these tales.
