About this product

Product Information

This Canon 10-22mm USM lens offers an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that fits onto every EF-S mount EOS digital camera. The focal length of this camera lens is around 16-35mm, so the photographer can get very close to a subject to exaggerate the difference in sizes between near and more distant objects. It also works to create a pan focus, so everything is sharply in focus regardless of its distance from the camera. The USM autofocus is smooth, fast, and quiet, and professional photographers can use the one-shot AF to override it completely and manually focus shots for precise images. Three aspherical lens elements make up the lens along with Super-UD glass, which works to minimize aberrations and create sharp, high-quality photos. An optimized lens coating minimizes the flare and ghosting.

  • Nice wide angle glass - quality on a budget

It's not a EF 11-24mm f/4L USM... but it's (new) 1/4 the price. It got mine used for a less than half the new price. It takes great shots, acknowledging that the corners are stretched and it's not totally tack sharp. Or my hand is slightly shaky. Stopping down to only 3.5mm, you'll need to get to macro lengths to see any bokeh. Photos attached.

  • Love this lens!

Bought this lens based on its many very high and glowing reviews - and am very glad I did! Good solid construction, fast focus, and excellent glass for the money. I bought it to use with my Canon T3i and together I've been able to get clear, beautiful wide angle shots in both automatic and manual shooting modes. I couldn't be happier with this lens!

  • Compact, responsive focus, adapted to mirrorless R7

Nice, compact design. Used with R7 with the EF-EOF R adapter. Capable wide angle lens. Typical distortion at very short focal length, but less than a fish-eye lens. Reasonable bright. The USM motor is quiet and responsive. I purchase the lens as used EX+ and have been very satisfied with value and performance. Based on serial number, this is an older model lens.

  • Dream Lens

Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens! The perfect wide angle zoom lens for tight spaces, interiors, and landscapes, to compliment my other dream lens the Canon 24-70mm EF f2.8 L. Work greats on my new CANON 80D Camera Body.

  • 10-18 vs 10-22

Purchased the 10-22 and works great for wide angle but if you would like to save money the 10-18 is just as comparable if not better. Fast AF on the 10-22 but nobody really uses AF when doing wide angle type shots. Build quality is a bit better and apparently image quality is a tad sharper but 10-18 is still a great value for the money

  • Great Wide Angle Lens!!!

Perfectly pairs with my 70D. It’s meant to be used with a crop series camera and that’s what I own. At 10mm you get a very wide angle shot with the usual curved edges, but we all know that’s gonna happen. Tack sharp where it counts, great color and images!!! Canon lenses are nice!!!

  • Less edge distortion than the Canon 10-18mm

I own the Canon 10-18mm lens, and was frustrated with distortion at the edges when pulling the lens back to the full 10mm wide setting. I decided to spring for the 10-22mm after reading some dpreview dot com reviews and other consumer reviews of the lens. Overall, I'm pleased. The 10-22mm lens distorts less at the edges. The improvement is noticeable (see first image attached). I do notice, however, more chromatic fringing (the slight purple haze along dark, sharp edges) in the 10-22mm than I notice in the 10-18mm (see second image). I'm still trying to figure out the conditions in which this occurs, and will need a little extra Photoshop time to eliminate it. In any case, the I'm pleased with the lens so far. A little better than I expected, and an improvement on the most important aspect of edge distortion relative to the 10-18mm.

  • Just what Dr. ordered for architectural photography.

A nicely built and high quality very wide angle lens to be used for interior house photography. Affordable as a used purchase, and produces images at full 10mm setting with no edge or barrel distortion, yet retaining good edge focus and depth of field. Canon quality.

  • Good lens for getting CLOSE to your subject

I love the wide able view, and being able to get close the camera for recording. I am using this in a small space to record YouTube microphone reviews, and having the camera close was a necessity. Most other lenses just couldn't get the view I needed from the angles I wanted.

  • I love this lens

I have been using a Canon 10-18mm lens. It is a good lens, but I needed a back up in case something went wrong with it so I bought the 10-22mm lens and decided to try it out so I knew how it performed. I like ti so much better than the 10-18mm lens. It has very little light flare unlike the 10-18mm. If any of you out there are trying to decide between the 10-18 or the 10-22. Please go with the 10-22mm lens. You will be much happier!!!
