Electric Non freezing animal water bowl
I have been struggling with keeping the water from freeze for my chickens for several years now. Alternating water bowls everyday. I always worried if they would be okay when I was out of town for a couple of days. The heated bowl has been a tremendous help to a long time problem. Heated water dish
I bought this small water dish for ducks as they need heated water in the winter and it would not take up much room in their hutch. Then I realized that they tend to get lots of food in their mouths and dump it into the water, so I was afraid that the dish may become dry with the food in it and burn it up. That hasn't happened yet, but I have found that the plastic bowl sticks/freezes to the floor of the hutch as water gets spilled under it and then freezes. So I was afraid that I would split or break the plastic bowl trying to pry it from the floor in order to clean it and refill it. So now I wish I would have paid a little more to get the stainless steel one. So I put an aluminum pie pan under the bowl so I would not break it. The bowl works okay, but the fact that it is plastic is a bit of a problem. Pay more and buy the stainless steel one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Though this is a bit smaller than our old outdoor heated pet water bowl, this works great! It is easy to clean. Has the wrapped/protected cord as advertised. One thing I didn’t realize until we received the bowl was that it has a two prong vs 3-prong plug. I at first had my doubts that this would really work. This is an absolute fantastic product. I put out food every day for stray cats and tried to do the same with water. But I live in Ohio and we've been having such bad cold spells that I had to change it about every 20 minutes. This is fabulous I am so glad I bought it. Keeps the water from freezing.
We bought this bowl because we feed the wild animals that come into our yard. The stray kitties, the birds, the raccoons, rabbits, possum and squirrels are all saying thank you for providing them with fresh water on days where no water could be found anywhere else because of the cold.
