  • Great suction, helpful for sewing rooms where threads abound. Good reach under 5 - 6 " furniture leg space. Eats cords bad vac.

Bought the Apex to use on third story bedrooms and long hall and sewing room. The Apex over my earlier models of Shark used downstairs and second story is the non tangle rollers. Sewing room and THREADS a big one. My waist length hair yes another. As I reached 70 this past year I've discovered I'm loosing more hair about the house despite usually it's tied in pony tail and our pony tail and up. But having to use scissors to restore rollers every single time with the other Sharks one is the Original Model Navigator and the other similar but with large cup size do not recall it's name but it actually will clean my new shag throw rugs for a bathroom and small excercise area. The navigator will not. I tried this over them and yes it does glide and suction seems good but I am pretty sure I killed my first Navigator as the roller motor died via over use on throw rugs not meant to handle. The good news is this seems to hold a lot in it's tiny cup. The full mark is way at almost the top where many are down below. I have trouble getting it off.You still have to clean as in wash the foam filter every time. And so I ordered a set of six foam, two cylinder and two external hepa filters in one bundle so I have plenty of dry foams to put the vacuum back together without worry of moisture into the motor or worse waiting a day or two to re-esemble. This is how I handle all my sharks I wash the foam filters each time I've used them. Ok so the dirty little news about all sharks bagless vacs is the dumping of the canister. I keep a feather duster in garage hung up to help clean it up. I used to wash the canisteres out each time but screws began to rust out. So now I just dust out as best I can after dumping. I have allergies and can trigger severe sinus problems right after dumping a canister no matter how careful and used to wear a mask long before the Covid era to help with that. It wasn't always successful. The two negatives I have with the Apex is it's hard to pull push in a total straight line. Second is the upper handle is heavy for me with arthritis in wrists and hands. For my purpose however it seems to be perfect. Yes I had some of my hair wind around the back roller. But not nearly as bad as the other two sharks. Hubby blames my hair if I cut it just shy of shoulder length it no longer gets tangled in the rollers. I find the Apex a bit awkward maybe I just need to get used to it. The plus besides the anti hair/thread winding problem semi solved is it fits under many high enough furniture pieces. Out two dressers it fits under. We have platform storage drawer King bed so can't say if it fits under beds but if at least five to six inches clearance it should. Now for a King you may need to go from both sides to get all the dust as the reach isn't probably a full three feet plus. I haven't measured to be sure on that. My biggest negative that my other two sharks do not seem to do...it eats all cords it snaps up like inches away even it seems to grab them. It's caught it's own cord pretty bad a few times now. I have got to be very very careful around all our electronic cords upstairs and many machine and ironing cords in sewing room. (I have 3 sewing machines, one embroidery machine two sergers out most of the time and all but one have foot peddles to run them. One industrial however is screwed down on a custom made lift stand and one machine has a knee operation my favorite since my parents gifted me that machine when I was 12. Meantime watch the cord eating to avoid having to replace cords or electric tape them up for safety purposes. And do not make contact with a damaged exposed wire cord when still plugged in. Just saying. Overall this gets a 5 star as suction is great, rollers for all hardwood floors great. I have not used the pet attachment roller that also does not collect hair. But will try it on my other sharks for stairs that are carpeted later. Usually I just run the full shark over them. I do like that I can like the original navigator lift the handle to apply the vacuum head over a step or a small upholstered chair upstairs that kits like to lay on. The middle floor shark does not cooperate nearly as well. So I still love my original navigator as my favorite model this is my second and the middle with larger cup isn't bad it is a liftaway too as are all three of these Shark Vac's. Just remember you have to clean those cups and even though I have a good set up in garage to do so I can get a nose full of dust now and again and it can t rigger allergies. I hated my Dyson and I hated Kirbies but did keep all my Kirby attachments that work on almost all of these sharks and our one canister that uses a bag. Hubby likes the canister. I loved my original Wards Canister until it's fabric hose after more than 40 years failed and there were no replacements not even upgrades to fix that problem. Or I would still be using that fantastic vacuum. And the key to the canistors is no hair/thread winding as in no rollers.

  • Excellent Vacuum

Pros: Great vacuum! Picks up EVERYTHING! Very powerful, easy to store, conveniently stands upright and very versatile. East to empty the waste container, easy to clean the washable filters. Comes with nice attachments. Long cord allows you to go anywhere. Cons: A bit noisy. Can make your arm a bit tired after a while because the weight is in the handle.

  • Shark Apex is a revolutionary, new take on vacuum cleaner design.

I love this vacuum. It is light, easy to push and gets under much lower furniture than any other vacuum I've owned. It is very well designed. It picks up as much dirt and dog hair in one cleaning as 8-10 cleanings with my heavy, awkward Kenmore. Its hand tools also work easily. I've cleaned out my car interiors with it and it cleans better than anything I've ever used in the past. I have an Industrial Design background, so I can appreciate the thought put into its design. That said, taking it apart to use some of the attachments, isn't entirely intuitive. Maybe, as I get more familiar with it, it will become easier to assemble and disassemble.

  • This vacuum sucks

Just got this vacuum to supplement our Oreck. The vacuum power is amazing. We installed hardwood floors and this thing just sucks unseen dirt / sand / whatever. It is shocking to see how much it pulls from the cracks. We are very impressed. Converting it to a handheld unit is so easy and again, the suction power is outstanding. Can't say enough good things so far.

  • Easy, Swift, Powerful, Daily machine. YOU NEED ONE OF THOSE MACHINES.

This thing really does what they say. It cleans and does a GREAT job. I have had 2 other Shark vacuum cleaners before both are great. But I can grab this one and just run all over the floor and rugs. It polished the wood and just went over rugs with no changing or effort what so ever. It is now my go to cleaner. I still use the bigger machines SOME TIME but this my EASY TO USE DAILY MACHINE. Best machine out there. All machines have trade off's. But this machine does everything so very well that if there is a trade off, I simply can't find any real faults to trade off. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU BUY ONE . THEY ARE SIMPLY THAT GOOD.

  • Excellent - Better Than Expected

My wife wanted this vacuum even though we have a built in house vacuum (very strong) but not convenient. She said it was light and excellent. Being skeptical, I used it to clean up a potato chip mess from a spilled bowl by our 11 year old. I was impressed and its ability to pick up next to the wall was amazing. The surfaces were throw rug and hardwood floor; it seemed to to switch from one surface to the other automatically.

  • Great vacuum

This vacuum has everything that I was looking for! It lays flat to clean under furniture, has a separate attachment for upholstery and steps, can change easily into a handbag, has powerful suction and empties very easily. Love it so far!

  • Great vacuum for whole house

Works great on tile floors, it picks up dirt and dust well. Does a better job than the central vacuum system on the carpeting. We bought it to use on area rugs and hard floors. But it is the vacuum of choice for the whole house.

  • A pleasure to clean with.

Vacuum is lightweight and is easy to control around furniture. Revolving head makes cleaning a breeze. Definitely a great cleaner for floor and carpet.
