GALAXY QUEST is a satirical comedy that pokes fun at the influence science fiction shows such as STAR TREK have had on their audience. The cast members of the cult sci-fi television series GALAXY QUEST now earn their livings appearing at conventions and grand openings, led by their bomastic captain Jason Nesmith, played by Tim Allen. When an alien race--the Thermians--arrives on earth, it appears that they have mistakenly appropriated the show's culture as their own, thinking the series was actual fact. Desperate for help in battling the evil General Sarris, they bring the actors with them into space to save their planet. A surprisingly smart and funny send-up of the science-fiction culture and the influence television has on the world at large, GALAXY QUEST is a comedy that even non-genre fans can enjoy, with terrific turns by Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Tony Shalhoub.

    One of the best parody films ever produced!

    The characters are believable and well developed. The scenes are well constructed (both physically and in their format/depiction of actual events). The story flows at a reasonable pace with just the right amount of jeopardy to spice things up. The comedy is outstanding! The added features really add to the whole thing and gives you a much better/deeper understanding of how, why and where the film was made.

    Exceptional Scifi comedy with heart.

    Well, apart from the excellent service and posting, and the quality of this bluray, this is an excellent scifi comedy. But don't let that put you off. Whilst it pays homage to, and satirically makes jokes at the scifi genre, notably StarTrek, this is an entertaining and funny film and the stars act their socks off! Excellent service from this company also. I would highly recommend.

    This is a great sci-fi comedy. I love it and so do my friends! One of the funniest films around Also, great special-effects, if you're into that (which I am!), great cast, and a very well-written screenplay. If the film seems like something you'd like -buy it! I'm sure you'll love it also. The transfer to Blu-Ray is excellent!
