    Take it with a grain of salt

    The writer blitzes the reader with historical in formation that becomes a bit overwhelming at times. I have not finished the book, but it can be read in stages. It is not a compelling page-turner. What I have read is interesting.

    A history that you cannot imagine.

    Excellent research and excellently written. Who knew? More wars have been fought over salt than over religion! This is not a one day read. Be patient and digest it slowly.
