A highly useful device for Ubiquiti networks
The cloud key is the heart of an Ubiquiti environment, whether you need basic network management or you are using one or more of the Ui Apps (Talk, Protect, etc.) Because the Gen 1 Cloud Key is now end-of-life and since it does not support any of the apps except network management, purchasing a Gen 2 cloud key makes sense. Two thinks that a buyer needs to be aware of: first, sellers rarely remember to reset the device to factory default; until that is done, you cannot properly use the device in your network and secondly, most of the Cloud Key Gen 2+ units sold on eBay have had their hard drives removed. They will not function until the drive is replaced, which adds about $30 to the cost of the unit. One other thing to consider is the device needs to be connected to a POE port or have a USB-C power adapter to power up. Configuring the device was pretty easy, before disconnecting the old cloud key, upload a "Settings" back up to a local host, and then download it to the new CK.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Difficult to set-up.
While the device appears to be of good design, quality and durability, the documentation is outdated and incomplete. Be prepared to contact the help desk. I spent an hour and half just trying to login before setting up the device. If you have multiple APs this is the best way to host them.
