Epson Perfection V500
Although a slightly older model, this scanner performs equally as well as the Epson Perfection V600. Downloading the utilities from Epson Support, they installed without flaw. Scanning modes provided function from full-auto to professional, full-manual for scanning, cropping, sharpening, color restoration, and dust/scratch removal. Although, some of these features did not provide the quality of image restoration as I was looking through all of the function modes, I did not have a problem creating a quality image file in professional, full-manual mode. Overall, I used this scanner in professional full-manual mode with relative ease, with the exception of having to individually toggle "off," then "on," each photo enhancement attribute to apply them to the photo in the preview window (the check-boxes should have indicated which enhancement attributes were going to be applied when it was preview-scanned).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Typical Epson quality at a bargain price.
Purchased this scanner as an open box unused item for a good price. Have not had a chance to fully rate all of its features as yet, but can say that it is functioning much better than the Epson Perf. V200 model it replaces. The one feature I might mention is that it is larger and heavier than the previous model, requiring more desk space and that it has a much heavier lid than the V200, making the insertion of documents a little clumsier and taxing.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does not allow me to control
I'm scanning lots of old negatives that don't seem to fit into the templates that they give you. I would like to just be able to scan the negative and crop off what I don't need it does not allow that in this software the scanner is probably excellent but the software sucks it tries to be too perfect it tries to do too much it doesn't let you have any control over what you want to doVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Looks to be the last of well built scanners for personal use.
It works well, wish the data transfer was faster, but it is old, you do have to switch it on after you boot your computer so the computer will find it, the one I got was in very good condition, it will do what I need it to do. At least Epson has a driver for Win 11, Win 11 is going to be a problem, am looking at different options now to use a computer, I don't know how many times they have to reinvent the hammer, I was happy with 98 SE, this rest of this stuff is fluff...There are two more Epson units the Perfection 550 and 600 , I really could not find the differences in the specs, they all seem to have the same downloads at Epson.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
