About this product

Product Information

An addictive and searingly honest novel about childhood and grief from the international phenomenon, Karl Ove Knausgaard One of the Guardian's 100 Best Books of the 21st Century, an addictive and searingly honest novel about childhood, family and grief. * Karl Ove Knausgaard's dazzling new novel, The Morning Star, is available to pre-order now * Karl Ove Knausgaard writes about his life with painful honesty. He writes about his childhood and teenage years, his infatuation with rock music, his relationship with his loving yet almost invisible mother and his distant and unpredictable father, and his bewilderment and grief on his father's death. When Karl Ove becomes a father himself, he must balance the demands of caring for a young family with his determination to write great literature. Knausgaard has created a universal story of the struggles, great and small, that we all face in our lives. A profound and mesmerizing work, written as if the author's very life were at stake. 'A masterpiece... Its depiction of a family's disintegration is one of the most powerful pieces of writing I've read in years' Observer

This is my second time buying from this seller and I would definitely place another order in the future. This time I ordered three books and everything went well. The books arrived in great condition, matching the description. As always they are very carefully wrapped. The prices are great and the communication is always very kind and clear.. responses very quickly. Highly recommend this seller.

This book arrived in good condition and as described and good was good value as were the other books I ordered. Unfortunately the packaging didn't survive Royal Mails handling and this was the only book I received of five I had ordered. I contacted WeBuyBooks and they have been brilliant in trying to resolve the issue of the missing books. They are replacing one that they still have in stock though unfortunately are unable to do so for the other three so are issuing a refund for these.

This book is exactly as described and in excellent condition. I'm really pleased with the quality and the price I paid which very low and exceptional value for money. The book was very well packaged and dispatched and delivered very quickly in just a couple of days. Excellent communication throughout with the seller. Very friendly, helpful and prompt response. I have bought from this seller a few times and everything has always met or exceeded my expectations.

  • A moving & descriptive piece of writing

I felt compelled to buy this after 'BBC Radio 4' did this on their 'Book at Bedtime' slot in January. I was not disappointed. Knausgaard describes his life; growing up; relationships with his family & friends; ups & downs (more of the latter) & it is easy from his writing to actually visualise the places & the people. His use of language is so descriptive, very occasionally boring for perhaps half a page, but it still compels & grips the reader to delve further into his life. A moving story of his tales of life & there is something which everybody can relate to at some point in the book.
