    Sometimes the Old Model is Better

    My new 2015 model Samsung Smart TV's remote is a banana shaped wand with a presenter type pointer seen on the screen. It was cool at first, but soon the lack of direct channel access and other normal function buttons became sorely missed. The pointer wand required more steps to do the same one click functions. So I spent some time at the TV store looking at previous Samsung model TV's remotes, and with some sales help, selected this remote for its looks, functions, and compatibility with my TV. Now my wife uses the wand and I have my own full function remote, life is good!

    Nothing to get excited about

    Not bad for a cheap replacement but not all of the buttons light up as its like a hit and miss kinda lighting. Also extra steps are needed for a sleep timer as i did not notice at first but had to find it under the menu button instead of its own button which was nice. Also the channel down button is extremely easy to just tap it and changes channels on you. Me i would pay extra for a remote with better lighting and its own timer button. I bought 3 of these as a standby and will look for a better remote so at 6 plus dollars its Ok i guess for that i will keep for an emergency only.

That said, you likely won’t find a better deal on an after-market Samsung TV compatible remote with lighted (as needed and by preference) display.

    Recommended change

    I would move the Smart TV control buttons up to the section where the volume and channel are now located as it is hard to operate these buttons when you have such a short section of the bottom of the remote in your hand in order to use these buttons. I actually returned the first 32 inch TV I bought last year because of the difficulty of holding the remote when streaming. I bought this TV because of the streaming feature where I use these buttons a lot more than channel or volume buttons

    GREAT QUALITY REMOTE UNIT

    Yes indeed!! My frustrations are over....upon opening this exact replacement controller, I was so excited that it popped from my hands an flipped in the air only for me to catch it! After inserting the batteries, I gave it a go and sure enough.......my TV lit up nicely, all functions including program (when needed) worked as expected. I was tired of using an outdated controller whose buttons continually "stuck" or numerical buttons responded radically by showing different numbers on my screen not even touched. The "feel" of this controller was very nice, it felt new and it's performance was "exacting"......easy to read button values, and well made. Thank you again for making my life more enjoyable:)
