    Fit For Purpose! (apologies to Jacob Rees-Mogg)

    Have only tested this helmet to confirm it's working OK., so have yet to use it for any length of time on a welding job. It appears to be manufactured to a good standard & comfortable. The best feature is to be able to see the job before welding commences, a difficulty I've previously experienced as I'm only an 'occasional welder'.

    Unreliable and intermittent eye protection.

    It has a very intermittent pick-up on the weld, so you might have no auto-darkening protection. Its taken a lot of fiddling with the settings to get it to work at all. One minute its working perfectly and then next its hello arc-eye. This is being used for Mig welding, replacing a previous auto-darkening mask which worked perfectly for years.

    Sealey 01001 Welding Helmet

    Excellent welding mask if you'd like to get into Arc, MIG, or TIG! The automatic darkening shade reacts very well and has adjustable sensitivity and delay, and the adjustable head strap is comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

    a good balance of price & protection

    Mask works very quickly & is very quick to respond to change in light & with the grinding setting makes it good all rounder ! Once I welding in grinding mode & it still seem to stop the welding light hurting my eyes ! Well worth having the grinding mode to stop sparks hitting your face
