      What a Great Find!

      My wife says they are the type of “old school” hooks she’s been searching for. She’s really happy. Loves the sizes as well as all of the colors.The length of the needle and the depth of the hook itself lets her crochet extremely fast. What a great find! Thanks a lot!

      Very satisfied!

      I'm always misplacing my hooks and although I also have Boye I have not really liked using them once I discovered the Susan Bates hooks years ago, so I decided I needed an extra set and I was thrilled to receive them so fast because there was one size in it that I needed to continue one of my projects. The price was great, I checked the Michael's store website and the same set costs much more so I'm happy I found them here because I didn't even have to go anywhere to get them.

      Pointed vs Blunt. Good for tight crocheting.

      It seems most other brands follow the same mold as Boye’s rounded, blunt hooks. I can’t stand using those types because I tend to crochet tight vs loose, and rounded tips don’t work well with my tighter stitches. That’s why Susan Bates is my preference. Susan Bates hooks have a pointed tip which is extremely helpful when crocheting into my tight stitches. It doesn’t fish around my stitches like the rounded tip hooks do. With Susan Bates pointed tip hooks, I’m able to get into my stitches without the hook sliding around on my work. These hooks are very precise. The streamlined throat design helps by directing the yarn exactly where it needs to go (directly to the tip) with no effort on my part. Giving the flow of my work consistency.       Good Quality, Great Value

      I recommend these to those that have never tried them or are new to crocheting. All hooks are a "to each his own" kind of thing unless you are new to crocheting, but I've always preferred this brand simply because of the design. I keep better tension with these over other brands. I've not tried an ergonomic hook yet to compare to those. I prefer these too because they are metal and that's what I like to use. Some people will only use a specific "other brand" or prefer plastic or wood. The con to these are they don't seem to be as long as a my Boye hooks which can be better for certain crochet projects. Is it a good value? Yes, especially if you know you are likely to use all of the sizes. I priced the cheapest I could find as a set, as well as individually and the set is by far the better ...

      Hard to find

      Susan Bates crochet hooks are easier for me to use because of some impairment of dexterity in my fingers and hands. These hooks allow me to crochet to correct gauge. I love them!
