Scheduled for release alongside its 2004 cinematic inspiration, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is a third-person, mission-driven action game. The absorbent, yellow, porous protagonist and his Bikini Bottom posse become involved in the mystery surrounding King Neptune's missing crown, and they must complete a series of platform challenges to unravel it. Along the way, they stumble into unforeseen danger, but make some new friends, too. Various levels put players in control of SpongeBob himself, his starfish friend Patrick, on foot or behind the wheel of a number of drivable vehicles.

    Just as good as it was when I was a kid!

    The game itself is still challenging today! It’s full of fun levels and good challenges that don’t get too difficult. 10/10 would definitely recommend to a Spongebob fan!

    Perfect for kids, not for adults.

    I bought this solely for its nostalgia value. I loved it as a kid, and I remember pouring hours into it and having a hard time completing it. It's an okay platformer, but it was definitely designed with kids in mind. All the levels are short and linear, with extra challenges thrown in which you can warp to from the menu screen once you unlock them. Even though you can easily breeze through a level to get back to challenges once you know the layout, the warping is perfect for kids who are newer to platformers and don't want to redo tricky segments. There are also no lives in this game. Once you run out of health, you will be spawned very close to where you died, which takes away almost any risk/reward for older players. But, if you're a kid with little patience and skill, this means that ...

    It's a game I played as a child and didn't know that I could go back to my save so I kept restarting so I never completed it.     Play it simply if you love nostalgic games that actually have good gameplay and great mechanics this is it.

    I use to play this game all the time as a kid most of the SpongeBob games but as a child I was too incompetent to fully complete most games (since this is a ps2 game I was roughly 5) but recently as an adult I’ve been buying old games and it’s actually brought me a little extra joy in this world so for all you gamers just take a break from these new games that are over 100gb for a download no updates included, just go back and play the old games you have to realize they’re not just old games they’re becoming relics a symbol of our childhoods play these games from your childhood collect them save them because one day they’ll be worth thousands but in my heart they’ll forever be priceless.

    I came for nostalgia and that's exactly what I got

    I used to play this game on GameCube when I was younger but my house got broken into and I lost my copy when I was just about to beat it. Soon I will finally have the closure of beating this oddly difficult game.
