    This late 70's film is a must see!

    In my opinion, Breaking Away is one of the all-time best coming of age films. The main character, Dave, is charming, intense, and sweet (and just a bit whacky). This film deals not only with the changes of growing up and losing your childish illusions, but it also shows how those changes affect your family and friends. Really entertaining and has a great ending.

    Still relevant

    One of the few films in American cinema history that deals with the class structure in the US while doing it with fun and with heart. I saw it when it first came out, at a theater in New York City, and the crows was howling and on its feet at the end. A perfect verification of how good it is.

    Great classic movie that is still meaningful today!

    Great classic movie. No sex, or nudity or bad language. Great actors, characters, great story that every high school kid should watch today! Even though this was shot back in the late 70's there are a lot of similar thoughts and life challenges that are still the same as today.

    Great classic movie.

    I don't know why it took so long to find this dvd whenever I looked for it on line. Most of the time I saw it was only available in Europe and expensive. So this find and purchase was pretty exciting. It is one of my all time favorite movies and the dvd quality is great.

    Great Feel Good Ending That May Move You to Tears

    Somewhat slow in the beginning as the director sets up the rivalry between the Cutters (towns men and boys) and the University students. But becomes a faster pace bicyclist race and teaching moments about life's fairness.
