    Best war movie of all time (in my humble but totally accurate opinion)!

    As true to life as possible, according to my personal study of General Patton. George C. Scott is magnificent in this role. I'd almost rather say, "General George S. Patton plays George C. Scott." This movie is a must watch for any fan of war movies or military history.

    Now politically correct

    All in all, a good movie. Although entertaining, there were some details that were not shown, and some that were new. Having seen this movie several times over the years, I was disappointed that a number of scenes that I distinctly remember were not there. Further, some of the movie was "new", things that were part of the movie that I've never seen. To me, the movie has been altered, changed, with stuff filmed but cut out years ago for the showing. The actors were the same but the political points were changed to fit the current(?) political climate.

    The ultimate WWII film, from the point of view of a brilliant general.

    This is a classic, and although there are a few conflicts with the actual historical events, much of it hews to the facts. Scott, of course, was the logical choice for the role. His voice is an octave or two lower than that of the real man, but this lends to Patton's sense of gravitas. (Note that he didn't have a bitter, insulting rivalry with Monty. They actually worked well together.) If you haven't already seen this movie, I strongly urge you to buy a copy and see it at least once. (I've screened for myself and for friends about four or five times, and enjoyed it just as much the last time as I did the first.

    My WWII Hero-Patton, Iserved during Vietnam War.

    I have watch the movie Patton dozens of times, he is my WWII Hero. I served during Vietnam in non-combat as a trained airborne radat tech on B-52 and KC 135s under Strategic Air Command.

    Great rendition of the story of a Great General and the blueprint for winning a war.

    This is a 5 star movie and done in an excellent manner. Took an Oscar for the screen play the year it was done. I have watched this movie many times and wanted it for my own to watch as desired. This particular edition has great visual and great audio. Thank you.
