    Sure choice

    I had hesitated for a long time before buying this product. I had tried a bit cheaper alternative which goes both ways, digital to analogue and vice versa, except it would not work with my brand of TV. Hesitant to spend some $150 or more (which would have been the final cost for me in my country) for a GEFEN, so I did not purchase the GTV-DD-2-AA at that time. Finally, after having searched again, some 9 months later, I found one in a second hand shop on Ebay for a fraction of the price (and which was willing to ship overseas) I decided go for it. And after a few tries not working (due to connecting in the wrong order), I did it the right way (it is always good to RTFM!), and now it gives this extremely clear audio signal through my Denon 1500 II to my special made high end speakers.     worth the money.

    I use this product to convert my TV's Dolby Digital sound to analog audio so that I can listen to the TV wearing my wireless headphones. They seem to last, my first one lasted over three years.

    My headphones finally work.

    It works well, but the fitting for the optical cable is a little loose. I don't know if it is the Gefen or the cable. Overall it is a good value.
